Meet the Adventure Guides

Mike Sturdivant

Mike is a Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Blue Mountain Surf, Inc. Mike has been searching out adventures on the Gulf Coast and beyond for over 25 years. Mike’s first teenage job was teaching sailing and windsurfing lessons on Choctawhatchee Bay. He then attended the University of Florida and earned three degrees in Psychology and Education. He has competed in countless sporting events: road running, cycling, sailing, swimming and triathlon - including a couple of Ironman triathlons! He actively competes in the Eastern Surfing Association and has represented the Gulf Coast as a district champion surfer for the past three years. When not at the beach, Mike works with adults and children in his licensed counseling practice. Mike and his wife Trish have a young son Dylan.

Steve Combs

Steve is a Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Blue Mountain Surf, Inc. Steve moved to the Gulf Coast in 1973 and has been surfing, fishing, sailing, and exploring the world ever since. While in law school, Steve was the graduate advisor and coach of the Emory University sailing team. When not at the beach, he practices law in Atlanta, Georgia. He is licensed to practice law in Georgia and Florida. Steve has a wife Jill and two kids, Davis and Parker.

Bubba Bird

Captain Bubba Bird operates all sizes and types of boat for any fishing trip you might desire. Bubba grew up on the local waters and has spent his entire career fishing in the area. He, along with his crew, have all the required U.S Coast Guard licenses and certifications. Captain Bird is an independent contractor of Blue Mountain Surf and operates his vessels through his company Just Right Charters, Inc.
