Southbound and Down…Paddle In Florida!
We are on the road working our way to South Florida. After an overnight in Gainesville, we spent a couple of days with friends in Indian Rocks Beach, near St. Pete. We took two nice paddles along the canals and intracoastal waterway. On one of the trips we were treated to some play time with a couple of manatees! Speaking of play time, attached is a pic of Dylan and Tommy winding their way up the canal…and a shot of Tracey on her first YOLO ride!

Billabong Grom Comp Report

The Grom Comp was an amazing success! Young surfers from all across the Emerald Coast gathered for a day of fun and friendly competition. The under 8 division was stacked five heats deep for the first round and displayed some amazing up and coming talent. The three foot seas provided some chest high peaks for the little ones…just enough to challenge but not so big as to frighten. We saw dozens of rides from the outside bar all the way to the sandy beach. In the older divisions we saw some advanced skills, working the faces, pumping for speed, several switch foot spin arounds and one ride with not one but two completed handstands!
The kids celebrated with trophies, champagne (sparkling grape juice) showers, and a giant prize money check for One Gazillion dollars!
Here is a link to pictures taken by the local paper.

Thank you Billabong for making this event happen. I hope it’s just the start of more good events to come!
